You can actually be in the way
Driving a lot the past two days. It's amazing how one slow driver can block the progress of so many other drivers. If a driver is driving 60 in the left lane next to a truck doing 60, no one is getting by. If you have to always be in charge and dominating the direction others go, whether it's school, business, church, family, a team or some other endeavor, then just like that slow driver, you just set the bar no one will Ever rise above. And you may just have an Einstein in your class whom you are deciding to make into an average Joe or Josephine. Or maybe a Michael Jordan into a much more mortal player. All because you are stuck in one gear. One speed. And you won't let anyone pass. What a shame. Move over. Encourage others to do what you never could. Help them get there. But at the very least, stop holding them back.
