Jesus didn't actually mean don't rule, did he?
Jesus didn't mean it!
When Jesus told His disciples that they were not supposed to be like the rulers of the gentiles by lording it over each other, surely he did not mean that!
I mean, He was the Lord of the universe, so he gets to Lord it over others.
So why shouldn't we?
I mean really, he doesn't want us to be last...not really.
You want that front seat, the rule is you can say "shotgun" and it's yours. Surely Jesus gets that.
First come first serve. That's in the Bible you know!
To be great he said we had to be the slave of all. But I know He really wants us to get the stuff we want in this world, because our happiness comes first; so he was just being allegorical. Had to be.
I mean look at all the pastors that get paid millions of dollars a year; surely they know what they are doing, and so Jesus must feel that's ok to live like a king WHILE we help others.
I mean he knows someone has to be in charge to someone surely has to rule over others. He's a king after all.
jk, I think they say today. Yes, this was a joke on all of you naive people out there.
Jesus meant what He said. And He lived it. He washed stinky disciple feet, He didn't have a place to lay His head down, He let Himself be put to death, for us. So yes, he meant it. Stop ruling over others, Christian. Stop being the big-shot in your mind. And if you can't do that, then step down and stop being the big shot leader. You need Jesus more than you need to lead and rule.
If you're a mission leader, don't play with other's lives. You aren't that important. You don't get to rule them. Help them, encourage them, empower them.
If you're a pastor then feed the sheep, don't rule and control them.
There is ONLY one King, Jesus. And only He is the ruler. Let Him rule; we serve, Him and each other.
